Financial Coordinator and Accountant - RED NOSES Jordan | 16 Hours a week (Limited Contract)
RED NOSES Jordan (RNJO) is seeking a qualified candidate to hire on the basis of a limited contract until end of 2022 for the position of Financial Coordinator and Accountant in Jordan. This position will require working 16 hours per week at the office of RED NOSES Jordan located in Amman.
1. About RED NOSES Jordan (RNJO):
RNJO is an artistic organisation with the mission to bring humour and laughter to people in need of joy. It is one of 11 RED NOSES group countries and was officially registered as a local branch office of RED NOSES International (RNI) in Jordan on July, 2017. RED NOSES is the first artistic organisation in Jordan that combines the art of clowning with healthcare and introduces this creative performing art into unusual places like social and medical facilities.
Through different artistic interventions, RNJO provided psychosocial support and help improve the emotional well-being of hospitalised children, children with disabilities, the elderly and children in marginalised areas. Currently, RNJO is operating in several medical and social facilities around Jordan. Since the establishment, RNJO has contributed to the development of a Jordanian creative clowning sector that contains many local performing artists and has a great impact on the health, cultural and artistic life and scene in Jordan.

2. Tasks and responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Accute and timely book-keeping according to local generally accepted accounting principles.
- Coordinate all accounts within the Falcons Systems database.
- Stay up to date with Falcons updates and up grades of the system.
- Handle monthly and yearly closings.
- Prepare journal vouchers, payment vouchers, receipt vouchers and bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivables.
- Handling of Petty Cash.
- Prepare the annual accounts (balance sheet, P&L statement, other documents).
- Audits financial transactions and documents.
- Pay all income taxes and the deduction at source taxes to the local tax authorities.
- Pay all social security payments of office staff.
Financial responsibilities and budgetting:
- Develop and maintain effective and proper financial procedures and systems.
- Prepare the monthly payments for service providers, inclusing the clowns and all the supporting documents.
- Help the Managing Director preparing grants report and the quarterly financial report for RED NOSES Headquarters in Vienna.
- Prepare new projects budget.
- Responding to financial inquiries by interpreting data.
- Ensure that RNJO meets and exceeds all legal requirements (in front of the authorities) and adopt best practices in all its financial operations.
- Development of financial and administrative manual and procedures in close coordinarion with the Managing Director.
- Prepare the documents for the annual audit.
Administration tasks:
- Procurement and office material.
- Ensuring all HR files are aligned with budget and accountant system.
- Managing office logistics.
- Organise staff meetings.
- Ensure that files and documents are properly organised, filed and archived together with all related information and data.
- Ensuring fixed schedule for all needed payments for consultants, service contract providers and required transactions from HQ in a timely manner.
- Advise on best practice related to all matters concerning finance and procurements.
- Other tasks administrative tasks required.
3. Accountabilities:
- Petty cash is correctly handled
- Payment are handled on time with no delays.
- Invoices and clown reports are in place
- Financial stability and transparency of RNJO is ensured.
- Internal Policies and intact and followed.
4. Requirement and skills:
- Graduate degree in finance, accounting or any other related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in related job.
- Thorough knowledge and advanced experience working with Falcons accounting system.
- Core competences: humour, teamwork, ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment, time management, results oriented and communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills verbally and in written in Arabic and English.
